Skin S.O.S

Traveling, especially on a long-haul flight, is tough on our skin.  Airless cabins, preservative-filled foods and alcohol are super drying.  Here are a few of our favorite products that will help restore moisture and leave you adventure-ready when you touch down.  They all incorporate natural ingredients, are TSA size-friendly and smell amazing

San Francisco and Tokyo based In Fiore focuses on the healing and restorative powers of flowers. This conditioning balm provides immediate relief for inflamed and irritated skin, and it is housed in an elegant, spill-proof gunmetal compact. With the protective benefits of marigold-derived Lutein, Calendula blossoms and Grape Seed oil, the balm offers a portable rich dose of hydration and instant radiance for your whole face.  Buy it at CAP Beauty, $115.

This is a beloved lip balm from Beautycounter.  Not only is it uber-moisturizing, it gives your lips a glam shine.  That tingle you feel? It is refreshing peppermint and rosemary leaf oils, which cool and soothe. $20

This cleansing stick, made by Korean luxury brand SU:M37, is the perfect cabin cleansing companion. It is made up of coconut oil, camellia oil, glycerol, and rose petals and creates a gentle lather when mixed with a bit of water.  Easily found on Amazon, $22.

De Mamiel's Altitude Oil is a fantastic travel companion. Blended with organic essential oils including Lavender, Eucalyptus, Frangonia, Peppermint and Lemon Myrtle, it clears any altitude-induced stuffiness. Dab a little under your nose or on your travel scarf and breathe.  Available at Net a Porter, $44.

If you are going to take a snooze with an eye mask, consider discreetly putting on these amazing eye gel pads underneath. Hailing from Iceland, they infuse the eye area with concentrated doses of Ginkgo balboa leaf extract and Coenzyme Q10 to relax blood vessels and help reduce puffiness. Skyn. Available on Amazon, $30.

The UK-based This Works "Camera Close Up" makes this fantastic portable lotion with repairing plant oils, Hyaluronic Acid, Argan and Starflower Oils and a hit of Caffeine. Boosting hydration, it erases the signs of fatigue and makes your skin glow. Apply just before touch-down.  Also on Amazon, $55

A little pale from shockingly rude travel companions and bitter flight attendants? Give your face a little punch with Beautycounter's Color Pinch Cream Blusher, $37.

I get slightly obsessed with washing my hands on a plane, so by the end of the flight, they are like sand paper.  I love the smell and non-greasy consistency of Tata Harper's  Rejeuvenating Hand Creme. It has Hyaluronic Acid and Avocado Peptides, Rose Geranium and Magnolia Flower and seems to rejuvenate my hands and magically erase wrinkles. Or do I need glasses too? $50.

The Sungkay travel kit is the perfect travel companion to store all these goodies.  In lightweight nylon, it won't weigh you down, and it is completely washable. $28.
