In travel, I believe that a good guide helps you open up the secrets of interesting places, while an outstanding guide helps you find yourself. An adventurer, a raconteur, a Welshman, Jack "Griff" Griffiths sits squarely in the latter category. My daughter and I met Griff at Deplar Farm on the Troll Peninsula in Iceland last summer, and we were totally enchanted by his warmth, humor, and depth of knowledge.
Our lasting impression was of him hanging perilously off a cliff of a mountain with a 6 foot net catching his first Puffin, a skill that takes the locals a lifetime to learn.
With its rope closure and leather tab, this ditty bag can also hang, though perhaps in less dangerous places. With mesh compartments in the sides, and a zippered pocket, it's got room for everything you need. Like a good guide should.
What is it for? A boy's/men's dopp kit (it was inspired by an old-fashioned sailor's "ditty" bag), a portable tool bag, a cool way to gift wine.
